Technical Analysis - This is a learning section
When I started my trading journey, I didnt know, how and where to go. Eventually, after enormous number of Google searches and hours of time spent studying different materials, much of which tended to be repititive and finally designing my own trading systems, thought of making life simpler for the un-iniated technical analyst. In some ways, this is my "give back" to the efforts that others have done on the web. Materials that are placed here are a combination of original and fully acknowledged resources on the web. These are put into a structure that makes it easy to refer and use, and may change over time. The current focus is the Indian user, but there is no reason, why the materials will not be useful to any beginner in technical analysis (TA). Amibroker users will benefit with illustrative and well known AFL's being made available in appropriate sections.
This will be a continuous and evolving section and users are recommended to comment in the forum section. Wherever appropriate, Amibroker AFL scripts will be embedded in this section for ready use of the analyst.
(Click any of the links - highlighted green phrases to jump to those sections)
Before we start our journey of technical analysis, we need to source the data that we want to analyse and the platform that we will use. Thats the first two sub sections here. Next we look at types of charts and trend lines.
Then we get on to basic chart patterns. This section is meant more for information as software can detect patterns that are described here. An AFL to detect high reliability patterns is included.
Discover Chart and Candlestick patterns next.
From theory, we jump into practice at this point. Basic elements of chart analysis. We cover moving averages in detail and the others are referenced from web resources.
And then think about your trading strategy.
And then 4 major styles of trading. Go ahead and explore :
- Camarilla Trading
- Gann Trading
- Murrey Trading
- Swing Trading
Look at the "Tango Twist" of using Point and Figure charts for trading with some of these major systems.
Insights into using Manhattan style trend charts in the Swing section.
Check out the useful Amibroker scripts in the AFL library.
Other sections are work in progress and will get updated frequently.
Note: All sections are drop downs to the main tab here.
All AFLs published within the articles are original work which you can freely use and acknowledge if you use it as part of your trading system.
